Bandung Design Biennale 2017

I was invited to create an identity for the Bandung Design Biennale 2017, a large-scale design event that takes place every two years. This event showcases engaging and interactive installations, innovations, artworks, and proposed design solutions by Indonesian designers, with a special focus on those in Bandung. The inaugural event was held in November 2017 with the theme "Motekar," which aimed to develop design knowledge, showcase the talents of every designer, and explore the economic potential based on innovation.

Motekar, a Sundanese word, translates to independent, strong, and glorious. It also carries other connotations such as creativity, indomitability, and resourcefulness. Motekar embodies individuals who continuously create, dream, strive, and work hard in their lives. The concepts of creativity and resourcefulness closely align with the work of designers. The visual illustrations depict how designers draw inspiration from new innovations, observe the thoughts of citizens, and sense the current situation.
